Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar says Faisal Qureshi’s divorce had nothing to do with him

Renowned Pakistani playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar recently addressed rumours about his second marriage and its connection to a divorce in a candid interview on Irshad Bhatti’s podcast. For the first time, he shared details about his second marriage to Rozina, the former wife of actor Faisal Qureshi, while firmly denying any involvement in causing a divorce.
When asked if the storyline of his famous drama serial Mere Paas Tum Ho was based on his personal life, Khalil responded that it was purely speculative. He explained, “Faisal Qureshi is a great friend and an outstanding actor. When Faisal auditioned for me with just five scenes, his talent left me speechless. I insisted on casting him in the project.”
Talking about his marriage to Rozina, he revealed, “This is a completely different story, which I cannot share here. However, I can confidently say that no divorce happened because of me. In fact, when Faisal and Rozina were going through a divorce, I tried my best to convince Faisal to save his marriage. I even argued with him about it.”
He further shared that despite his efforts, Faisal’s mother told him that delaying the divorce might only postpone the inevitable. Khalil added, “I wasn’t wealthy or influential enough to be the reason for anyone’s divorce.” Swearing on his faith, he reiterated, “No divorce ever happened because of me.”
It’s worth noting that Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar married his cousin, Rubi Naz, in 1985, and later tied the knot with Rozina in 2000.
