Lahore among the safest cities in the world, surpassing London and New York

Lahore has made a major leap in global safety rankings. The city now stands at 63rd among the world’s safest cities and 37th on the Global Crime Index — ahead of cities like New York, London, and Paris.

According to officials, reported incidents dropped from 67,585 to 34,091 within a year. Serious crimes fell by 64%, while cases of theft and snatching also saw a sharp decline.

Over 400 police officers were held accountable as part of internal reforms. DIG Operations credited this success to data-driven policing, use of modern technology, and solid administrative support.

Authorities say they are committed to making Lahore one of the safest cities in the world.
