Lahore Bar Association elections set to take place tomorrow with 35 candidates

Lahore: The Lahore Bar Association (LBA) elections are set to take place tomorrow, January 11, with a total of 35 candidates vying for 11 prestigious positions. The elections will be conducted using a biometric voting system, and an estimated 14,712 members are eligible to cast their votes.

 

Polling will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until 5:00 PM. The election is expected to be highly competitive, with candidates across various categories contesting for key positions within the LBA.

For the position of President, four prominent candidates are in the race: Irfan Hayat Bajwa, Mubashir Rehman Chaudhary, Adeeb Aslam Bhindar, and Mian Faiz Ali. Meanwhile, six candidates are competing for the vice president position. Additionally, three candidates each are contesting for the vice president seats at Model Town and Cantt Courts.

The secretary position will see a competitive battle between six candidates, while three contenders are in the running for the roles of joint secretary and finance secretary. Four candidates are competing for the librarian seat, while the auditor position will feature a direct contest between Professor Atiq Ahmad Khan and Raheela Hafeez Rana.

Election authorities have issued a stern warning to candidates, reminding them that any violations of the election code of conduct could result in heavy fines.

With the elections drawing close, members of the Lahore Bar Association are eager to see who will emerge victorious and lead the association into the coming term.
