Lahore Qalandars Eliminate Karachi Kings to Secure Spot in PSL 10 Qualifier

LAHORE – Lahore Qalandars booked their place in the next stage of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 after a commanding six-wicket victory over Karachi Kings in the Eliminator clash at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday night.

Chasing a challenging 191-run target, Qalandars crossed the finish line in 18.4 overs with four wickets down, thanks to a collective batting effort led by Abdullah Shafique’s explosive half-century.

Openers Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Naeem laid the foundation with a brisk 42-run stand inside the first five overs. Naeem departed for 14 off 12 balls, but Zaman continued to play aggressively, scoring 47 off 28 deliveries, peppered with five boundaries and three maximums.

Shafique, who joined Zaman at the crease after the first wicket, anchored the innings brilliantly. He smashed 65 off just 35 balls, including five sixes, and formed a crucial 83-run partnership with Kusal Perera, who contributed a steady 30 runs.

The Qalandars remained in control throughout the chase, with Bhanuka Rajapaksa (23*) and Asif Ali (1*) wrapping up the match with eight balls to spare.
