Lahore to Rawalpindi in Minutes? Bullet Train Still a Distant Dream

The Punjab government’s plan to launch a bullet train between Lahore and Rawalpindi is now facing serious challenges.
According to railway officials, outdated infrastructure and extremely high costs are major obstacles. Experts have also warned that even running trains safely above 100 km/h isn’t possible without a complete overhaul of the current railway system.
The estimated cost of the project runs into billions of dollars, raising questions about its practicality and priority in the current economic climate.
