Last day to submit income tax returns for fiscal year 2024

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reported that more than 5.03M people have filed tax returns for fiscal year 2024, with 1.94M of them being nil returns. This is an increase of 2.35M filings compared to the same period last year, when 2.72M returns were filed, including 954K nil returns.
According to sources, there will be no further extension for the 2024 filing deadline. However, individuals needing extra time can still apply for an extension on their own.
Since July 1, 2024, around 602K new taxpayers have registered, showing increased awareness and participation in tax filing across the country.
