Lyari building collapse: Rescue operation ends, 27 dead

The rescue operation at the collapsed six-storey residential building in Lyari’s Baghdadi area, Karachi, has been completed. At least 27 bodies have been recovered from the rubble, and eight people were injured.
In a miraculous turn, a three-month-old baby was pulled out alive from the debris. Following the operation, heavy machinery was withdrawn, and the district administration decided to seal off the site.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has ordered a full investigation and called a high-level meeting tomorrow. He noted that over 480 buildings in Karachi have been declared hazardous, but residents refuse to vacate without proper protection or relocation plans.
