Mother personally surrenders escaped prisoner from Malir Jail to the police

Karachi: One of the prisoners who escaped from Malir Jail was taken to the prison by his mother.

According to media reports, the woman convinced her son to surrender, walked him back to the jail, and pleaded for leniency, saying: “I’m a widow. He is my eldest son and was jailed over a photo. I brought him back myself, on foot.”

Her act of honesty and respect for the law is being widely praised on social media as a symbol of strong parenting and civic duty.

The escape occurred after earthquake tremors triggered panic in Malir Jail, leading to over 200 prisoners breaking out. Inmates clashed with guards, seized weapons, and opened fire. Several escapees have since been recaptured.
