Maryam Nawaz Unveils Major Development Package for Murree
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a major development plan for Murree. She shared the vision while inaugurating the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Center in Samli. Maryam called Murree her second home and linked it to her family’s history. She said she knew the area as well as Lahore. Her plans aim to boost healthcare, tourism, transport, and infrastructure in the region.
A key part of the plan focuses on healthcare. Maryam announced a new hospital will be built in Bhurban. She also launched Murree’s first cardiology center, which is now operational. Surgical services will start soon to ease medical access. A 110-bed hospital is planned for Kotli. Mobile clinics and health centers are already serving locals.
Transport and tourism upgrades are also underway. A new train service from Rawalpindi to Murree is being launched. Fifteen green buses will help tourists travel easily. Electric buses are coming soon to support clean transport. A special tourist support force has been formed. Road networks and the expressway have improved visitor access.
Maryam also announced several infrastructure and environmental projects. A large water supply scheme is in progress. Schools across Murree are being upgraded for better education. A wildlife park is planned to protect natural beauty. She stressed that illegal construction will not be allowed. Authorities will work to keep Murree clean and green.
The Chief Minister said her government is fully committed to Murree’s future. She promised continued efforts to improve the area. With better hospitals, cleaner transport, and strong planning, Murree is set to transform. Maryam’s vision links modern growth with heritage. Local residents and tourists are expected to benefit from these changes.
