No ban on installing multiple electricity meters, clarifies Power Division

Author Avatar Web Desk | 2 weeks ago
Islamabad: The Power Division has dismissed reports claiming a ban on installing more than one electricity meter in a single household, calling them false and misleading.

A spokesperson stated that such rumours, circulating on social media, are a deliberate attempt to create public confusion.

As per NEPRA’s Consumer Services Manual 2021, a separate meter can legally be installed in any residential unit that has a distinct portion: entrance, circuit, and kitchen.

The Power Division clarified that laws already exist to prevent the misuse of electricity and unauthorised access to subsidies, and these are fully enforced.

Citizens are urged not to believe in fake news and to cooperate with distribution companies for proper and legal use of electricity meters.
