Michael Jackson’s used and stained white sock has been sold for over $8,800 in an auction held in France. The sock, once worn by the “King of Pop,” attracted strong interest from fans and collectors. The auction took place on July 30, 2025, and far exceeded initial price expectations.

The sock was originally valued between €3,000 and €4,000. However, the final bid reached €7,688, or about $8,822, showing huge demand. In Pakistani currency, this translates to over 2500,000 rupees. The sock is embellished with rhinestones but shows yellowing and stains from use and age.

Jackson wore the sock during a concert in Nîmes, France, in 1997, as part of his HIStory World Tour. A stage technician found it abandoned in his dressing room after the performance. The technician, a dedicated fan, kept it for decades alongside his backstage pass.

Though worn and stained, the sock became a prized possession due to its association with Jackson’s legendary career. Auction organizers described the item as “rare” and “deeply symbolic.” They called it a cultural artifact representing the global legacy of Michael Jackson.

The sock’s imperfections increased its value, showing its authenticity and real use. Fans were eager to own something Jackson personally used. The item is now part of a growing market for music memorabilia tied to major stars.
