Mike Hesson Appointed as Pakistan Men’s White-Ball Head Coach

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially appointed Mike Hesson as the white-ball head coach of the Pakistan men’s cricket team. His tenure will begin on 26 May 2025, ahead of a busy limited-overs calendar.

The decision follows a thorough recruitment process, during which several applications were evaluated after the coaching position became vacant following Pakistan’s tour to New Zealand in April.

Mike Hesson, a seasoned cricket strategist, has previously coached New Zealand and Kenya at the international level. He also has a strong presence in franchise cricket and is currently the head coach of Islamabad United, the reigning champions of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Welcoming Hesson to his new role, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said:

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of former New Zealand cricketer and renowned coach Mike Hesson as the white-ball head coach of the Pakistan men’s team.
Mike brings with him a wealth of international experience and a proven track record of developing competitive sides. We look forward to his expertise and leadership in shaping the future of Pakistan’s white-ball cricket. Welcome to the team, Mike!”
