Cement prices across Pakistan showed a mixed trend during the week ending October 2, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). In the northern region, the average price of a 50-kg cement bag dropped slightly by 0.10%. It went from Rs1,382 last week to Rs1,381. Meanwhile, prices in the southern region remained steady at Rs1,449 per bag. The cement market continues to reflect small changes amid overall price stability.

In the north, city-wise prices varied across key urban centers. Islamabad reported an average price of Rs1,357 per bag, while Rawalpindi stood at Rs1,361. Other cities like Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Lahore had prices ranging from Rs1,380 to Rs1,428. The highest price in the northern region was in Bahawalpur at Rs1,450. Bannu had the lowest at Rs1,280, showing regional price gaps.

Southern cities also reported varied prices, though the average remained unchanged. Karachi recorded Rs1,367 per bag, while Hyderabad saw Rs1,427. Sukkur and Quetta reported the highest rates at Rs1,500 and Rs1,510, respectively. Khuzdar followed closely at Rs1,483, while Larkana stood at Rs1,407. These numbers reflect higher cement costs in southern Pakistan compared to the north.

Earlier in September 2025, cement prices also showed minor variations between popular brands. BestWay Cement was priced at Rs1,410, slightly above the national average. Maple Leaf Cement, however, was listed at Rs1,430, making it the most expensive and premium option. These brand-based differences continue to affect market dynamics and consumer choices.

Despite floods disrupting construction activities, cement prices have remained mostly stable nationwide. However, costs may increase if supply chains face further pressure. For now, builders and consumers are dealing with only slight fluctuations. The market will likely remain cautious as infrastructure challenges continue into the next quarter.
