Mohammad Amir is a national asset, says Shoaib Akhtar

Islamabad: Former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has praised Mohammad Amir, calling him a valuable asset to Pakistan cricket for his skill, game awareness, and relentless work ethic.
Recalling a match against Australia, Akhtar said, “I was getting hit by David Warner, but when Amir came on, Warner was clueless—he didn’t know whether to move forward or back. He simply couldn’t read Amir’s swing or pace.”
Akhtar highlighted Amir’s ability to read match situations, control his line and length, and set the right field, describing these traits as signs of a world-class bowler. He also noted that Amir regularly analyzes his bowling during warm-ups to sharpen his skills ahead of every match.
Criticizing team management, Shoaib added, “If the administration can’t understand the players’ pain and needs, they have no right to hold their positions.”
