The Punjab government has withdrawn the official security of Ali Haider Gillani and his brothers, sparking sharp criticism from the PPP. The party has demanded immediate restoration of their security. The Gillani family believes the move is politically motivated. They have also called on the Punjab government to review its decision. The issue has quickly turned into a political flashpoint.

Ali Haider Gillani, a former hostage of the Taliban, still faces threats to his life. His brother, Ali Qasim Gillani, voiced strong concern over the decision. He said everyone knows why their security was withdrawn. He added that the PPP would protest against what he called “political vengeance.” The decision, he said, was both surprising and irresponsible.
