Imran Khan Bushra Bibi case

Progress has been reported in the £190 million corruption case at the Islamabad High Court. The case involves former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi. Legal proceedings are continuing as authorities review new filings. Officials say the matter remains under judicial consideration.

Meanwhile, the National Accountability Bureau filed a new miscellaneous application in court. Special prosecutor Rafaq Masood submitted the request on behalf of the bureau. He asked the court to declare the pleas for suspension of sentences inadmissible. According to NAB, these requests cannot be maintained under current legal grounds.

Sources say the main appeal against the sentence has not yet been scheduled for hearing. Court authorities have not issued any official notice regarding the appeal. As a result, legal proceedings remain at an early stage. Observers note that procedural decisions may shape the next phase of the case.

Furthermore, NAB insists that the suspension requests should not proceed in court. The bureau argues that the pleas lack legal standing at this stage. Prosecutors believe the court should first address procedural requirements. Their application asks the court to reject the suspension requests.

The Islamabad High Court will now examine the miscellaneous application carefully. Judges will decide whether the request is admissible under law. This decision will determine the next step in the legal proceedings. Analysts say the ruling could influence the timeline of the case.
