NADRA director general dismissed over fake degree allegations

RAWALPINDI – The Director General (DG) of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Zulfiqar Ahmed, has been dismissed from his position after an inquiry found him guilty of possessing a counterfeit MBA degree.
According to sources, an investigation revealed that the American university that allegedly issued the MBA degree did not exist. Further scrutiny uncovered discrepancies in his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree, with the college’s name being different from what was listed at the time of the degree’s issuance.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) conducted a detailed inquiry into the matter at NADRA’s request. Despite being issued a show-cause notice, Zulfiqar Ahmed failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the inconsistencies surrounding his academic credentials.
As a result, NADRA authorities decided to terminate his services, citing the gravity of the situation and the importance of maintaining integrity in public office. The dismissal comes as a blow to Ahmed, who had been serving in the key role of overseeing NADRA’s operations.
