The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced updated guidelines for age modification in the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), offering more structured and transparent procedures for overseas Pakistanis in 2025.

According to the new policy, overseas Pakistanis who wish to modify their date of birth can now do so through multiple platforms, including the Pak ID mobile application, by visiting their nearest NADRA center, or by contacting the Pakistani embassy or consulate in their country of residence.

Eligibility Criteria and Required Documents

The eligibility and documentation for age modification depend on the extent of the age change being requested:

  • First-Time Change (Up to 5 Years):
The required documents include a valid Pakistani Passport, Matriculation Certificate, Mark Sheet (issued within the past 3 years), or Service Book.

  • Second-Time Change (Up to 366 Days):
Requires a Pakistani or foreign passport, a valid resident permit, or a Matric Certificate.

  • One-Year Change (366 Days):
Permitted based on an inland or foreign-issued birth certificate.

  • Unnatural Age Gap Between Siblings (Less Than 7 Months):
Allowed up to 366 days without any additional documentation.

NICOP Age Modification Fee Structure (2025)

NADRA has set a new fee schedule for age changes based on the duration of the difference:

Age Difference Fee (USD)
Up to 1 year $5
More than 1 year and up to 2 years $25
More than 2 years and up to 3 years $40
More than 3 years $65
Modification for the second time $125
