National Horse and Cattle Show 2025 to begin on February 10 in Lahore

According to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s orders, the National Horse and Cattle Show 2025 will officially open on February 9 and start in Lahore on February 10.

This is the event’s 30th return, and for the first time since its inception in 1964, 70 international teams will compete. The final performance took place in 1995.

With the theme “Unity, Progress, and Cultural Revival,” the event will take place at many Lahore sites till February 23, 2025. Along with equestrian performances, it will feature classic sports like polo, archery, and tent pegging. Additionally, from February 13 to 23, there will be children’s games, flower exhibits, and cultural festivals.

Punjab will celebrate its legacy with music festivals from February 14–16 and a Sufi festival on February 19 to honour Sufi saints and disseminate their teachings. There will be a car display for fans of antique cars on February 16 and kabaddi bouts on February 18–19.

Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, highlighted that the celebration of the province’s agricultural and cultural legacy is a gift to the people of Punjab.

She emphasised that the government’s dedication to agricultural development, farmers’ welfare, and the upholding of traditional values is reflected in the show’s rebirth, which has attracted participation from all over the world.

She said that there is no room for hatred in Punjab, which is a place of love and harmony.

For the previous four months, a steering group headed by Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb of Punjab has been in charge of preparations, with the Pakistan Horticulture Authority (PHA) being instrumental in the event’s coordination.
