Nationwide Rallies Planned Across Pakistan Today in Solidarity with Palestine

Several religious and political organisations in Pakistan have announced plans to hold countrywide rallies after Friday prayers to show solidarity with the people of Palestine and condemn Israel’s ongoing aggression in Gaza.
The call for protests comes following the National Palestine Conference, organised by Majlis-e-Ittehad-e-Ummat, which declared this Friday as the Day of the Oppressed and Detained Palestinians. The conference called on the government to suspend diplomatic ties with any country maintaining relations with Israel until an unconditional ceasefire is enforced in Gaza.
Participants of the conference also urged the United Nations Security Council to convene an emergency meeting to press for a lasting and sustainable ceasefire in the region.
Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) has announced protest rallies in all district headquarters across the country. The party said that its workers will gather and hold demonstrations after Friday prayers to denounce Israeli violence against innocent Palestinians.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has also announced nationwide rallies as part of its campaign to stand with the people of Gaza. JI chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman is scheduled to lead a major protest march
