Nawaz Sharif Departs for Two-Week Check-Up

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif left Lahore for London on Monday morning. He departed on a foreign airline flight for a two-week stay. Family sources confirmed the visit is for medical reasons. Doctors in the UK will conduct several health check-ups during his stay. This marks another routine medical trip for the former prime minister.
The visit comes just days after Nawaz Sharif underwent tests in Lahore. He visited the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences for a medical check-up. Doctors performed an MRI on his neck after he reported pain and stiffness. These symptoms raised concerns about his muscle and nerve health. His doctors advised further testing abroad for more detailed evaluation.
According to close sources, the trip is not politically motivated. It is part of his long-term treatment plan managed by doctors in the UK. Nawaz Sharif will meet with specialists who have been overseeing his condition for several years. They will review his recent scans and run new tests if needed. The trip is expected to last nearly two weeks.
This is his second medical visit to London in recent months. In June this year, he made a similar trip for consultations. Health concerns have been a consistent issue for the senior PML-N leader. His medical needs often require travel outside Pakistan. Despite political speculation, his family insists this visit is strictly for health reasons.
As Nawaz Sharif undergoes treatment, PML-N leaders remain focused on party affairs at home. His absence is not expected to affect major political decisions. However, his health updates will likely draw public and media attention. For now, the former PM is prioritizing his well-being under the care of his UK-based doctors.
