New Passport Will Include Both Parents’ Names

Islamabad: The Passport Department has announced that the name of the mother will now be included alongside the father’s name in new passports, aiming to improve identity clarity and documentation. This step has been taken to modernize the system and ensure better representation of family information in official records.

According to the Passport Department, the new passports will also include advanced security features. Visa pages will display images of historical buildings from different provinces of Pakistan to highlight the country’s cultural heritage.

The department clarified that no major changes are being made to the design or structure of the passport, except for improved features. These updates are in line with international standards and are meant to enhance both security and usability.

The printing of the new passport booklets has already started after approval from the Ministry of Interior. Citizens will soon be able to apply for these upgraded passports with improved features and updated information.
