No plans to rename Jinnah Institute of Cardiology, clarifies Maryam Aurangzeb

Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has denied rumours about a possible name change of the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology, Lahore, calling such reports baseless.
In a statement on social media platform X, she confirmed that the institute’s name remains unchanged and is officially listed as such in the Punjab government’s 2025–26 development program.
Aurangzeb also shared that 14 new hospitals of international standards are being planned under the Nawaz Sharif Medical District, with master planning near completion.
She urged media outlets to verify information before reporting, to avoid spreading misinformation and confusion amongst the public.
