Nushrratt Bharuccha: “Criticism Won’t Stop Me from Praying or Visiting Temples”

Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha has opened up about her faith and personal beliefs, saying that public criticism will not stop her from practising her religious routines, whether it’s offering namaz or visiting temples.
In a recent interview with an Indian media outlet, Nushrratt revealed that she often faces criticism on social media and in public for her clothing choices and religious beliefs. However, she made it clear that such negativity doesn’t affect her.
“This criticism can’t stop me from going to a temple or praying namaz,” she said. “These are part of my faith, and I will continue doing both.”
She explained that her strength comes from her spiritual clarity and inner peace. Nushrratt also shared that her family strongly believes in giving each individual the freedom to follow their path of faith.
“Wherever you find peace — whether it’s a temple, gurdwara, church, or mosque — you should go there,” she added. “I pray namaz with all my heart, and when I have time, I even try to pray five times daily.”
The actress also mentioned that she keeps a prayer mat with her while travelling so she doesn’t miss her prayers.
“God is one,” she said. “The paths may be different, but they all lead to the same Divine. I want to explore all those paths that connect me to God.”
