Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Emotional Recording of ‘Dulhe Ka Sehra’

Famous Indian lyricist Sameer Anjaan recently shared a touching story about the legendary singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He recalled the time when Nusrat Sahab recorded the emotional song Dulhe Ka Sehra.

Sameer said that when Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan heard the song, he loved it and agreed to sing it. But during the recording, he became very emotional. Every time he sang the line “Main Teri Baahon Ke Jhoolay Mein Pali, Babul”, he cried — more than a hundred times.

When asked to take a break, he refused and said, “If I sing it today, all my feelings will be in it.” He later shared that the line reminded him of his daughter.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan passed away in 1997, but stories like these show how deeply he felt his music. His powerful songs still touch hearts around the world.
