Okara woman sold by brother-in-law and sister-in-law for Rs. 50,000

A shocking incident has emerged from Okara’s 22 GD area. A pregnant woman, Sidra, was reportedly sold for fifty thousand rupees. Her brother-in-law, along with accomplices, took her to Khanewal and handed her over to a woman named Kaneez.

Kaneez allegedly forced Sidra into illegal activities for one month. During this period, Sidra suffered abuse and threats. Eventually, she managed to escape and return home. Her return, however, did not end her suffering.

Upon Sidra’s return, she faced further violence, which tragically caused the loss of her pregnancy. Her husband immediately informed local police about the ordeal. The report highlighted the severity of the crimes and the urgent need for intervention.

The District Police Officer (DPO) of Khanewal, Rashid Hidayat, took strict notice of the case. He instructed officers to register a formal criminal case against all involved. Police teams have begun raids to apprehend the suspects.

The DPO confirmed that a high-level police team has been formed to investigate the incident thoroughly. Authorities emphasised that justice will be ensured for Sidra and her family.
