RAWALPINDI: Funeral prayers for 12 Pakistan Army soldiers were offered at Chaklala Garrison on Sunday. The soldiers embraced martyrdom while defending Pakistan during an unprovoked attack by the Afghan regime. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that the attack took place on the night of October 11-12, 2025. Top civil and military leadership, including Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, attended the Namaz-e-Janaza. Public representatives and federal ministers also paid tribute to the martyrs.

Defence Minister, while speaking at the funeral, honoured the soldiers’ sacrifices for the nation. He said Pakistanis are indebted to their bravery and commitment. He condemned the aggression from Taliban forces and Indian-backed terrorist proxies operating from Afghan soil. He stated that such acts would never weaken Pakistan’s resolve. The Minister reassured that Pakistan’s armed forces will continue defending national borders with full support from the people.

Earlier, the Pakistan Army repelled a large-scale attack along the Pak-Afghan border. According to ISPR, Taliban militants and Indian-supported elements launched fire and physical raids. The attackers aimed to destabilize the region and help terrorists infiltrate. However, Pakistani troops responded swiftly and effectively. The military eliminated over 200 terrorists and captured 21 posts from the enemy.

ISPR confirmed that precision strikes targeted Taliban camps, training facilities, and support networks inside Afghanistan. These also included factions of Fitna al Khawarij, Fitna al Hindustan, and ISKP/Daesh. The Pakistan Army ensured all operations avoided civilian casualties. The statement emphasized the military’s right to self-defense and its commitment to national security.

The recent clash highlights ongoing threats from across the Afghan border. Despite provocations, Pakistan remains firm in protecting its sovereignty. The bravery of the 12 soldiers reflects the armed forces’ dedication to the nation. Pakistan continues to face complex regional challenges but stands united in its defense.
