Pakistan announces 17-member squad for tri-nation series and Asia Cup 2025

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming Tri-Nation T20 Series and the Asia Cup 2025, both to be held in the UAE. Agha Salman has been retained as captain.

Tournament Schedule: Tri-Nation Series (Pakistan, Afghanistan, UAE): Aug 29 – Sep 7 in Sharjah. Asia Cup 2025: Sep 9 – Sep 28 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

The squad was unveiled by Chief Selector & Director High Performance Aaqib Javed and Head Coach Mike Hesson in a press conference.

Pakistan Squad:

Agha Salman (Captain), Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Saim Ayub, Khushdil Shah, Hussain Talat, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Mohammad Haris, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Mirza, Sufyan Muqeem.

Key Highlights:

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are not included, but selectors say they’re still in consideration for future selections. Salman Mirza earned his spot due to strong performances in Bangladesh.

Coach Mike Hesson stated, “We’ve won 6 out of our last 9 matches — no major changes were needed.”

Aaqib Javed expressed confidence: “This squad has the potential to beat India.”
