Islamabad: Pakistan’s Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt General Ahmed Sharif, has confirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces are fully prepared to respond to any form of Indian aggression. During a media briefing, he detailed the recent escalation in cross-border tensions, revealing that India attempted another infiltration across the border on the night of May 7 and 8.

According to Lt General Sharif, a total of 12 Indian drones have been intercepted and shot down in various parts of Pakistan, including major cities such as Lahore, Gujranwala, Chakwal, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and Karachi. These drone incursions have caused significant concern, with one civilian martyred and four soldiers injured in the attacks. In Lahore, a drone came dangerously close to military installations, resulting in injuries to four soldiers.

The drone attacks have also been reported in other areas, such as Ghotki, where one civilian was killed and another was injured. Lt General Sharif termed these incursions as a “serious violation” of Pakistan’s sovereignty and international law, emphasising that India’s actions have not only targeted civilians and places of worship but have also severely jeopardised regional peace and stability.
