Pakistan Army Successfully Repels Multiple Attacks by Afghan Taliban

The Pakistan Army has successfully repelled coordinated attacks launched by Afghan Taliban and Fitna-ul-Khawarij militants in the Spin Boldak area near Chaman early Wednesday morning. Security sources revealed that the militants attempted assaults on three different locations at dawn, but timely and decisive military action forced the attackers to retreat with significant casualties.

The security forces stated that the militants used nearby villages and innocent civilians as human shields during their offensive, but the Pakistan Army’s precise response prevented any major damage to civilian lives and infrastructure.

According to intelligence sources, approximately 15 to 20 Afghan Taliban militants were killed during the counter-operations. Additionally, militants attempted to destroy the Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate, a key trade and transit point, indicating their opposition to peace and commerce between the two countries.

The destruction of this gate demonstrates that the militants are not only hostile to Pakistan’s security but also seek to disrupt local trade and economic activity, which directly affects the livelihoods of border communities.

Sources further confirmed that the Pakistani military foiled a similar attack in the Kurram sector last night. During the counteroffensive, the army destroyed eight enemy posts and six tanks, along with the personnel operating them. Several militants were also killed, and a cache of American-made weapons was seized during the operation.

Following these successful strikes, a calm has temporarily returned to the Kurram sector, though intelligence reports indicate that militants may be regrouping in Spin Boldak.
