It has been 27 years since Pakistan became the world’s seventh and the only nuclear power in the Islamic world. 27 years ago today, on this very day, our beloved homeland created a new history in the Islamic world, known as the Day of Takbir.

On May 28, 1998, Pakistan conducted five successful nuclear tests in Chagai, Balochistan, in response to India’s nuclear detonations.

This historic day, commemorated as Youm-e-Takbeer, symbolises Pakistan’s sovereignty and strategic defence capability.

Following its nuclear achievement, Pakistan developed various missile systems capable of delivering nuclear warheads. According to renowned scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, Pakistan had attained nuclear weapons capability as early as 1984.
