BEIJING –In a remarkable display of cultural exchange and creative collaboration, the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, in partnership with the China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC), hosted the first-ever Pakistan-China Fashion Show at the iconic Badaling section of the Great Wall of China.

The historic venue served as a symbolic bridge between the two nations, highlighting their shared heritage and growing cultural ties. The event featured exclusive collections by celebrated Pakistani designers Maheen Khan, Moazzam Abbasi, Ayesha Tariq, Rizwaullah, and Zain Hashmi, each presenting designs that blended Pakistani and Chinese fashion elements. China-based Pakistani designer Aqeel Chaudhary also showcased a unique jewelry collection.

Renowned Chinese designer Ms. Liang Suyun also participated, bringing her own creative perspective to the cross-cultural runway. The fashion show was curated by Mr. Adnan Ansari of Riwayat, a platform known for promoting South Asian fashion globally.

The event drew a diverse audience, including senior Chinese officials, diplomats, business leaders, and members of the media.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, called the Great Wall a fitting venue to celebrate the modern Silk Road spirit through fashion and art. He noted that the event marked 60 years since the first visit of a Pakistani dignitary to the site and underscored the growing commercial potential of Pakistani fashion in the Chinese market.

CICCC Chairman Mr. Long Yuxiang praised the event as a significant cultural milestone, showcasing the strength of the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. He emphasized the importance of continuing to explore the contemporary value of traditional fashion aesthetics and deepening cooperation in creative industries.

This landmark event not only celebrated fashion but also reaffirmed the long-standing friendship and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China, pointing toward a future rich in shared cultural endeavors.
