Lahore Pakistan secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh after a commanding 57-run victory in the second match held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Batting first after winning the toss, Pakistan posted a formidable total of 201 runs for the loss of six wickets. Sahibzada Farhan led the charge with an explosive 74 off 41 balls, while Mohammad Haris contributed 40 runs. Hasan Nawaz played a quickfire unbeaten knock of 51 off just 26 deliveries, including three sixes and two fours. Captain Salman Ali Agha scored 19 runs, and Saim Ayub was run out for 4 while attempting a quick single.

From the Bangladesh bowling unit, Hasan Mahmud, Tanzim Hasan, and Rishad Hossain claimed one wicket each.

Chasing a target of 202, Bangladesh could only manage 144 runs in 19 overs. Despite a fighting half-century from Tanzim Hasan Sakib (50 runs), the visitors struggled to build any momentum. Tanzid Hasan added 33, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 23, but key players like skipper Litton Das (6) and Towhid Hridoy (5) failed to deliver under pressure.

Pakistan’s bowlers maintained tight control throughout the innings. Abrar Ahmed took three wickets, while Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf, and Haris Rauf chipped in with one wicket apiece.

After the match, Captain Salman Ali Agha mentioned that the pitch looked good for batting and the team aimed to set a big total to put pressure on the opposition. He also confirmed that Sahibzada Farhan replaced Fakhar Zaman, who was unavailable due to fitness concerns.

Pakistan had already won the first T20I by 37 runs, and with this second victory, they have sealed the series. The third and final match will be played on June 1 in Lahore.
