Pakistan declares February 8 as a national day of mourning!

The Government of Pakistan has announced February 8, 2025, as a National Day of Mourning to honor the late spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, Prince Shah Karim Al-Husseini, Aga Khan IV, who passed away at the age of 88.

A notification from the Cabinet Division confirmed that the national flag will be flown at half-mast across the country as a mark of respect.

Born on December 13, 1936, in Geneva, Prince Karim Aga Khan was a globally influential leader and philanthropist whose contributions impacted millions. His passing has deeply saddened the nation, with the Prime Minister expressing profound grief on behalf of Pakistan. The national mourning will coincide with His Highness’s funeral on February 8, 2025.
