Pakistan has developed its first vaccine to prevent breast cancer. Girls aged 12 will receive three doses.

The Institute of Public Health created the human papillomavirus vaccine. Authorities have initiated policy discussions after its development.

Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja praised the vaccine. He said the government focuses on improving healthcare nationwide.

Professor Dr Javed Akram stated the vaccine will significantly help prevent breast cancer. It provides lifelong protection for young girls.

Experts warn breast cancer now affects younger women. Average diagnosis age dropped from 60 to 30–40 years, making prevention crucial in Pakistan.
