Pakistan embraces crypto: Bilal Bin Saqib appointed Chief Advisor

In a significant move towards cryptocurrency regulation, the government of Pakistan has appointed Bilal Bin Saqib MBE as the chief advisor to the finance minister on the newly established Pakistan Crypto Council.
Bilal, a London School of Economics (LSE) graduate with a master’s in social innovation and entrepreneurship, has gained global recognition for his contributions to social impact and technology. His efforts have earned him a Member of the British Empire (MBE) honour from King Charles III and the prestigious Points of Light Award from former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
He was also featured in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for his non-profit organisation, Tayaba, which has positively influenced over 500,000 lives. In 2021, Tayaba made history as Pakistan’s first charity to utilise blockchain technology for NFT fundraising, showcasing his innovative approach to philanthropy and digital assets.
Bilal’s appointment signals Pakistan’s commitment to integrating cryptocurrency into its financial ecosystem. As Chief Advisor, he will lead efforts to create a regulatory framework, ensuring a secure and sustainable environment for digital assets.
