ISLAMABAD: The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports announced a major expansion of its Fast Track passport service on Monday. Originally offered in seven major cities, the service is now available in a total of 47 locations across Pakistan, including 26 newly added cities.

The Fast Track service, which provides expedited passport processing, was initially available in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta. With the latest expansion, the service is now available in cities such as Attock, Haripur, Chakwal, Batkhela, Sargodha, Swabi, Bhalwal, Nowshera, Hafizabad, Karak, Mianwali, Mansehra, Bhakar, Muzaffarabad, Kohat, Mirpur (AJK), DI Khan, Bagh, Swat, Rawalakot (Pooneh), Abbottabad, Kotli, Bannu, Sudhanoti, Hangu, and Bhimber.

This expansion aims to make the passport application process more convenient and faster for residents of these regions, allowing them to obtain passports without the long wait times associated with traditional processing.

The Directorate General has instructed all zonal heads to promptly implement the new facility, and the Director (Databases) has been directed to update the Passport Processing System (PPS) to include these cities in the Fast Track category.

The notification, issued by Hafiz Abdul Nasir, Assistant Director (Policy-I), has been shared with relevant authorities, including the Director General of Pakistan Post, to ensure public awareness and smooth implementation of the extended service.
