Pakistan Faces Economic Challenges Amid Iran Conflict, PM Shahbaz Says

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said Pakistan is significantly affected by the ongoing Iran conflict. He stressed that the country is facing economic challenges amid Iran conflict, and efforts are ongoing to reduce regional tensions through diplomacy and coordination.

During a regional situation meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said Pakistan has continuously tried to promote a ceasefire. He noted that the Deputy Prime Minister is working tirelessly to reduce regional tension, while Pakistan has actively tried to cool the flames of war through diplomatic measures.

He also highlighted that two Pakistani ships stationed in the Strait of Hormuz successfully navigated the area. The Prime Minister credited coordinated efforts of officials, including Ishaq Dar and field marshals, for ensuring safe passage, which helped protect national interests during the ongoing regional crisis.

Furthermore, Shahbaz Sharif discussed economic measures taken to counter the impact of the conflict. The federal government cut 100 billion from the PSDP within three weeks, and parliamentarians ensured oil-saving measures. He emphasized that provinces and federal authorities must prioritize savings to protect ordinary citizens from hardship.

Finally, the Prime Minister reiterated that Pakistan faces economic challenges amid Iran conflict. He urged focus on vulnerable populations and agriculture, emphasizing that political stability is essential for economic stability. He called for collective sacrifice by elites to shield citizens from the crisis’s effects.
