ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Industries and Production conducted Pakistan’s first-ever e-balloting for the PAVE Scheme. This scheme allocates subsidized electric bikes and three-wheelers across Pakistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The balloting was done securely through the PAVE Online Portal with help from the Engineering Development Board. A Balloting Oversight Committee supervised the process to ensure fairness and transparency. The ministry received 269,161 applications in total.

Out of these applications, 40,000 winners were selected through the digital balloting. This included 40,000 electric two-wheelers and 1,000 electric three-wheelers. Successful applicants can check their status on the PAVE portal using their CNIC or Application ID. Winners will receive online notifications, and the subsidy disbursement will follow official procedures. The Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) will handle delivery, after-sales service, and warranty.

Federal Secretary Saif Anjum inaugurated the e-balloting and called it a landmark step for clean mobility. He said the scheme supports Pakistan’s shift toward sustainable transportation. The PAVE Scheme aligns with the National Electric Vehicle Policy 2025-30. Officials believe it will create over 100,000 green jobs and boost local manufacturing. It will also strengthen Pakistan’s industrial base and reduce pollution.

The scheme offers subsidies to help buyers afford electric vehicles. For two-wheelers, subsidies are Rs50,000 for bank leasing and Rs80,000 for self-financed purchases. For three-wheelers, subsidies stand at Rs200,000 for leasing and Rs400,000 for self-finance. This financial support aims to encourage more people to switch to electric vehicles. It also hopes to grow the electric vehicle market across the country.

Overall, the PAVE Scheme marks a major step toward eco-friendly transport in Pakistan. The digital balloting system ensures transparency and fairness for all applicants. The government’s focus on clean energy promises long-term economic and environmental benefits. Citizens eager to participate can check the official portal for updates. This initiative moves Pakistan closer to a greener and more sustainable future.
