Pakistan Launches ‘Operation Salar’ in Response to Indian Cyberattacks

Islamabad: In a retaliatory move against India’s cyber aggression, Pakistani volunteer hackers have launched Operation Salar, targeting Indian digital infrastructure. As part of the initial wave, four major Indian websites were hacked, defaced with the Pakistani flag, and their data compromised.

The hackers’ statement claims this operation is a direct response to Indian cyberattacks, anti-Pakistan propaganda, and ongoing human rights violations in Kashmir. They describe Operation Salar as a warning—not the conclusion—of a broader cyber campaign.

“This is a message to those who challenge our sovereignty and national dignity. We are a peaceful nation, but we will not remain silent,” the statement read.

The hashtag #OperationSalar is now trending on social media, with users hailing the move as a “cyber knockout” for India and urging further action against Indian media, financial systems, and defence networks.
