Pakistan Ready to Lead Global Mineral Economy: COAS General Asim Munir

ISLAMABAD – COAS General Asim Munir on Tuesday expressed Pakistan’s ambition to become a global leader in the mineral economy, highlighting the country’s vast untapped resources and investment potential.
Speaking at the Pakistan Mineral Investment Forum 2025 in Islamabad, General Munir welcomed international investors, experts, and organisations to explore opportunities within Pakistan’s mineral sector.
“We invite global partners to bring their expertise, invest in Pakistan, and work together with us to unlock the immense mineral potential of our country,” he said.
The army chief emphasised the critical role of engineers, geologists, operators, and mining professionals in driving the development of the mining sector. He shared that Pakistan is actively investing in human resource development, with a focus on building a skilled workforce to meet future demands.
“At present, 27 students from Balochistan are receiving specialised training in mineral exploration in Zambia and Argentina,” General Munir added. “Our aim is to prepare a new generation of experts who will play a vital role in the growth of this sector.”
He further noted that economic security has now become a fundamental part of Pakistan’s overall national security framework.
