Pakistan sets up a crisis management unit to assist citizens stranded in Syria

Pakistan has activated its Crisis Management Unit (CMU) to support its citizens caught in the escalating conflict in Syria, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This move comes as tensions between the Syrian government and various rebel factions continue to create uncertainty in the region.
The Foreign Office urged all Pakistani nationals currently residing in or travelling through Syria to stay safe and contact the CMU if they require any assistance. Families of Pakistanis stranded in the region are also encouraged to reach out for support.
Additionally, the Pakistani Embassy in Damascus remains fully operational and continues to work closely with authorities to provide aid and support to its citizens in Syria.
Earlier this week, Pakistan also advised its citizens against unnecessary travel to Syria in light of the volatile security situation. This precaution aims to ensure the safety and well-being of Pakistani nationals as the situation in the region evolves.
