Pakistan Stock Exchange: KSE-100 drops over 800 points

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a downturn on Tuesday, ending its recent winning streak as the benchmark KSE-100 index dropped by more than 800 points.

 

The KSE-100 closed at 115,042.25 points, shedding 802.56 points, or 0.69%, compared to the previous session’s closing of 115,844.82 points. The day saw a total of 767.27 million shares traded, a slight increase from the 675.04 million shares traded in the previous session.

The value of the traded shares amounted to Rs31.82 billion, lower than the Rs37.53 billion recorded in the last trading session. Out of 450 scrips actively traded, 135 companies posted gains, 266 companies saw losses, and 49 companies’ share prices remained unchanged.

Market analysts pointed to key stocks such as MARI, HUBC, OGDC, LUCK, and PSO as the primary contributors to the negative movement in the KSE-100 index.
