Dubai: Pakistan’s Under-19 cricket team secured a dominant 69-run victory over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the seventh match of the U19 Asia Cup 2024, booking their spot in the semi-finals.

Chasing a target of 315 runs, the UAE managed to score 245/8 in their 50 overs. Pakistan’s Abdul Subhan was the standout performer with the ball, claiming an impressive six-wicket haul to dismantle the UAE batting lineup. Despite a valiant partnership between Ethan D’souza (84) and Rayan Khan (50), the UAE fell short in their chase.

The UAE’s top order, including Yayin Rai (18), Aryan Saxena (24), and Akshat Rai (5), struggled to provide a solid foundation. D’souza and Khan’s resistance was commendable, but after their dismissals, no other player was able to contribute significantly, leaving the hosts with no chance of reaching the target.

Earlier, Pakistan set a challenging target of 315, thanks to centuries from Shahzaib Khan and Riazullah. The opening pair of Usman Khan (41) and Shahzaib Khan provided a solid start, with Shahzaib scoring a brilliant 132 off 136 balls. Riazullah followed up with a crucial 106 off 91 balls. Together, they ensured Pakistan posted a formidable total.

For the UAE, Noor Ayobi claimed two wickets while Uddish Sri took one, but their efforts were not enough to stop Pakistan’s dominant performance.
