Pakistan Welcomes Iran-US Talks in Oman

Pakistan has welcomed the recent diplomatic engagement between Iran and the United States, held in Muscat, Oman, on April 12, 2025, describing it as a positive step toward regional stability and peace.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan expressed appreciation for the political negotiations between Tehran and Washington, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and mutual respect as the most effective path to resolving long-standing tensions.
“The recent discussions between Iran and the US are a significant move in the direction of regional peace and stability,” said the Foreign Office spokesperson. “Pakistan believes that diplomatic engagement and respectful dialogue are essential for de-escalating conflicts.”
Pakistan also commended the Sultanate of Oman for playing a constructive role in hosting the negotiations, highlighting Oman’s continued efforts as a neutral facilitator in regional diplomacy.
The Muscat talks reportedly focused on regional security concerns and Iran’s nuclear program. While Iranian officials have termed the discussions as “productive,” the US side has yet to publicly comment on the outcomes. However, both parties have agreed to continue the dialogue in the coming weeks.
Reiterating its longstanding stance, Pakistan emphasized the value of diplomatic solutions to international disputes. “Dialogue, understanding, and political negotiation are the most reliable tools for sustainable peace,” the Foreign Office added.
Tensions between Iran and the United States have fluctuated over the years, with diplomatic engagement often overshadowed by strategic and political divides. The recent talks in Oman are being seen as a potential turning point that could revive hopes for broader cooperation in the Middle East.
Observers note that regional coordination and international support will be key to maintaining momentum and ensuring long-term peace.
