Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, addressing a joint press conference alongside the DG ISPR and Foreign Office spokesperson, warned that Pakistan will respond with full force to any act of aggression.

Referring to India’s reaction following the Pahalgam incident, Dar said, “India has adopted an irresponsible and aggressive stance. “Their illegal actions and provocative statements have escalated tensions in the region.”

Dar condemned terrorism in all forms and highlighted Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He accused India of being involved in terrorism across the region, including inside Pakistan, and criticized New Delhi for exploiting such incidents for political gains. “India routinely blames Pakistan after any such incident and is trying to equate the Kashmir freedom movement with terrorism,” he said.

Dar emphasized that the Kashmir dispute remains unresolved as per UN resolutions, and India’s oppressive laws and actions in occupied Kashmir are unacceptable. “Targeting unarmed civilians is a violation of basic human rights,” he added.

He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance on the Indus Waters Treaty, calling India’s recent statements a blatant violation of international law. Water is the lifeline of 240 million Pakistanis. “The National Security Committee has made it clear that any violation of the treaty will not be tolerated,” he stressed.

Dar concluded by stating that the entire region is at risk due to India’s reckless behavior, and Pakistan remains committed to peace but is fully prepared to defend itself.
