Indian Film Federation calls for complete ban on Pakistani artists amid rising tensions

Mumbai: Amid escalating diplomatic and military tensions between India and Pakistan, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has issued a formal letter announcing a complete ban on Pakistani artists, including actors, singers, and technicians, from participating in Indian film projects.
The letter also urges authorities to block the release of the upcoming film Abir Gulaal in India, which stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan alongside Indian actress Vaani Kapoor.
FWICE stated that no collaboration with Pakistani talent should be allowed until cross-border relations return to normal. The move reflects growing sentiments within certain Indian industry circles against cultural exchanges amid heightened political tensions.
This announcement comes at a time of increasing strain in India-Pakistan relations, both diplomatically and militarily.
