Pakistani Delegation Improve Visa System

ISLAMABAD / KABUL: A high-level technical delegation from Pakistan has arrived in Kabul with the aim of reviewing and enhancing the visa issuance process for Afghan nationals, diplomatic officials confirmed.

The delegation comprises officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior, relevant government departments, and technical experts. Their primary objective is to assess and upgrade the visa section at Pakistan’s embassy in Kabul, focusing on improving efficiency, transparency, and service delivery.

According to diplomatic sources, discussions will center on the introduction of online visa services, enhancements to the biometric verification system, and other technical upgrades to streamline the process for Afghan applicants.

Officials clarified that the visit was scheduled well in advance and is unrelated to recent tensions at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. “This trip is purely technical and administrative in nature,” one source said.

A follow-up meeting is expected in the coming days to ensure the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and to address underlying issues.
