Pakistani student Musa Hiraj elected president of Oxford Union

Oxford University has elected Pakistani student Musa Hiraj as the president of the Oxford Union, making him the fourth Pakistani to achieve this prestigious position.
Musa Hiraj secured victory in a highly competitive election at the world-renowned debating society. He is the son of former federal minister Muhammad Raza Hayat Hiraj and has gained recognition for his leadership and debating skills at Oxford.
Expressing his gratitude, Musa stated, “Becoming the president of the Oxford Union is a great honour for me. I am truly thankful to Allah for this achievement.”
Notably, he joins an elite list of Pakistanis who have previously held this position, including former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, activist Ahmad Nawaz, and Israr Khan. His election marks another milestone for Pakistanis excelling on the global academic stage, highlighting the country’s presence in international leadership and debate forums.
