Pakistan’s tallest man Naseer Soomro passes away at 55

Naseer Soomro, recognized as Pakistan’s tallest man, passed away at the age of 55 in Shikarpur after battling prolonged health issues. He was 7 feet 9 inches tall and had held the title of the country’s tallest man following the death of Zia Rasheed.
Naseer Soomro was laid to rest after funeral prayers on Tuesday. His passing has been met with condolences from various leaders, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who expressed deep sorrow over his demise.
His death follows that of Zia Rasheed, who was previously Pakistan’s tallest man until he passed away in July 2024 at the age of 30. Rasheed had been suffering from a long-term knee-related illness, which he first experienced at the age of 20. Notably, Rasheed’s death coincided with the anniversary of Alam Channa, once the tallest living man in the world between 1982 and 1998.
Alam Channa, who stood 7 feet 7 inches tall, passed away on July 2, 1998, and was buried in Sehwan, Sindh. His legacy remains significant in Pakistan’s history of exceptionally tall individuals.
